Tillman County was formed on July 16, 1907 from Comanche and Kiowa Counties. It was named for U.S. Senator Benjamin R. Tillman of South Carolina. The county has a small population but keeps a full set of court records. Copy fees are $1.00 for the first page. Each extra page is $0.50. Certification costs $0.50 per document. Mail requests need a check or money order and a self-addressed stamped envelope. In-person visits are handled during business hours with a valid photo ID.
